Another photo from the book.  This is the front door of Branningham Grove - I remember it best as Louis’ Restaurant - a one-time brothel on the outskirts of Owen Sound that, like too many of our historical buildings, is being threatened with demolition.  Clearly, when I took this photo, it had been a while since anyone had used the front door.  Peace.

Sorry for the lack of posts the last few days.  It took me a bit to get my life back to normal.  Almost there.

My final shot from the 2010 Olympics.

Had a pretty spectacular trip home yesterday.  Although we were warned that we should arrive 4 hours early for our flight, it took us just over an hour to go from hotel to gate, and that includes a 45 minute ride to the airport.  Arriving in Toronto also went very well, although Stacey and I expected to see 5 blue coated volunteers to help us find the Park ‘N Fly shuttle pick-up point when we arrived.  When we did find it, the shuttle pulled up immediately and took us to our car.  Unfortunately, I guess things were going a little too smoothly as when I tried to start our car the battery was dead.  A phone call to Toyota and an hour later we were on the road.  Arrived home at just after 2 am, back up at 6:45 to give my daughters a hug and get my oldest to band practice.  Going to pick her up at noon so we can share with them all the loot we brought back.  A good night sleep will hopefully get me back to normal.

Thanks to all of our new and old West Coast friends for making our Olympic experience unforgettable.  Give me a week to decompress and then I can hopefully reflect more honestly on our trip.  Peace.

A common theme at many of the venues.

Women’s curling was disappointing.  Not because the Canadians lost, but because they seemed to have it in the bag.  Many fans were celebrating as the Swedes stole two in the 10th. 

No plans today.  Thinking we might finally make it down to Yaletown - a place we intended to visit our first night here.  Tomorrow should be a great last day.  Hockey finals in the Hockey House (as VIP’s again) and then we walk across the square to the Closing ceremonies.  And then, if we have the energy, back to the Hockey House for more free food and drink before making our last trip back to New Westminster on the skytrain.

A great night at speed skating where the Canadian women won a silver medal in the 3000m relay.  You can see a lot more photos on my flickr page.  Tomorrow is the Gold Medal women’s hockey game.  Should be awesome.

Had a great time today at the Canada-Germany Hockey game.  Lots of crazy fans in attendance, including this young lady.  Unfortunately, we are not going to be able to watch the Canada-Russia game today as we will be at short track speed skating, which I am really looking forward to, as well.  Still having a great time but I think both of us are just about ready to head home.
